God is everywhere. I have always been real close to him. As far as an experience of talking to him. I have done it more then once physically and mentally. God has came to me through certain people. Like He totally became them temporarily.
I have even meet him in his true physical form, this experience is personal. But I can and will share one experience.
One day I got off track and listened to some pretty bad music, like a dummy. I was ridding in the car with my Grandmother and my friend Tim. I was fixing to get my head phones out for my iphone. When all of a sudden I felt Gods presence. My head phones where broken. He came totally through my friend Tim's mind.
He said, face the music. I am sorry I had to do that; he was pertaining to my broken head phones, when you learn your lessen you can have some new head phones.
As this was going on, I guess it was God's presence. My Grandmother's eyes where sparkling; twinkling as though she was mesmerized.
That's all I have to share for today. I have had several other experiences. Not all of them are God giving me lessons. This was just the simplest experience I could write. Thank you for reading and may God bless you.
You had a special privilege, and attention from the Holy Spirit I am sure. Those words were meant for YOU. Keep those words in your heart.
I had a similar experience, but it wasn't God speaking. One day at work (in a factory) I was casually talking to two guys that were somewhat friends with me. I had been working for years on the night shift, and my kids were growing up without me being at home, for them.
I was caught between a rock and a hard place. I had to work hundreds and hundreds of hours of OVERTIME to support my family.
I was talking to my friends about moving to first shift, and my friends began saying things that were meant to mock me and what was in my heart.
I replied "that is the devil talking, and I walked away from them, while they were still laughing. I don't think they were even the least bit aware of what they were saying, or where their words were coming from.
I remember Jesus telling Peter "Satan get behind me!" More on that later.
I eventually made it to day shift, but not until after I had basically put myself in a bad situation. First shift was typically reserved for the privileged workers..., however, I was not treated well. I resented it, and things got worse.
Anyway, you discerned the spirit behind the faces and voices of people you knew well.
Do you remember when one of the disciples spoke to Christ telling Him that he would not accept the idea that Christ was about to be crucified at the hands of the Romans, and the ruling Religious figures at that time. He picked up a sword and cut off an ear from one of the soldiers that came to get Jesus. Jesus called his disciple by saying "Satan, get behind me!" I think it was Peter, he had a temper! Of course Jesus picked up the ear and held it to the soldier's head, and his ear was immediately healed.
Satan seems to be able to slip into a conversation when emotions are running high. You have to be able to discern the "spirit" behind people's words. And I think that is what you experienced.
Write your experience into a journal to remind you of how God helps you "discern" one spirit from another. It is a gift, one of many that God gives His children. Wish I had kept a journal. I went off sailing into trouble, and got lost.
Took some years to get back on course.
God Bless you and your family,
Jeff
