My Encounter with a Being of Light

I came from a church going background. I always had the thought of Jesus. He was a person on a cross... After many year's of hard drinking and drug abuse I found myself in a place where I could not go on in any way shape or form. Drinking wasn't working anymore nor drug's. I spiraled down...

I was driving my car through a desolate dirt road in the mountains, when everything lit up in a bright light and a peace that is indescribable. From that day, on my life began to change. I had no desire to drink or take any drugs. That is 16 year's ago as of today. I am not saying life is not challenging... Because it is... I have also quit smoking for the same amount of time and the thing is there is no wanting for any of it! I feel as though I have been set free... God is GOOD! and God is very real!

This experience has changed my whole outlook on life, I do not walk alone anymore and I wish the same for all. After the death of my beloved father last year, God has put into my life a wonderful bereavement counselor who has jump started my spiritual life to new heights. God can use any situation to benefit you and bring Glory to him if you let him... God Bless Joe

Very well said, I have also received spiritual help with addiction. When the student is ready the teacher appears.

That is such a beautiful story. Thank you for sharing it. I am expecially touched by the way you quit drinking and smoking. My husband has tried this and watching him I know it is hard.
Divine intervention indeed. :)

Joe, Congrats on your vision. I have talked to and heard so many stories about people who hit rock bottom and cry out for help from "God..." And they received that help.

I believe in Jesus Christ and his time on this world. After many years of intense study of religion in general I have arrived at one conclusion. Let me repeat, this is my feeling (and the feelings of thousands, if you read more on this site and others). We all have a piece of God (whatever, who ever we may take as God) within us - our spirit. Another name may be our subconcious. There are so many books that will tell you that "the law of attraction" is real and we attract every day, even if we do not know what the law of attractin is all about, we do it subconciously. Sorry for the going on but please bare with me (is that the correct use of bare?).

Looking back at your life you can probably say what things that came into your life, you were responsible, good or bad, you attracted those things- no? One thing I have learned is the law of attraction is very strong when we attach emotion to the thought or request - the stronger the emotion, the better. Is that the case with your experience? It seems to be the case with others I have talked with.

I am also curious and this is just something I ask many people - what or who is God in your mind? My belief is that having a spirit, we often connect with God, Allah, the alfa and the omega, the Universe or the Universal conciousness by focusing inward, such as prayer or meditation.

Anyway, please tell me, what is God to you, I am seriously interested in what people believe God to be. Trust me, I have been asking this question for 50 years so please don't be offended. Thanks, Mr. Woodcock

What a wonderful story. When you have an experience like this with Jesus you are never the same again. I had one in my story "Jesus held me in his arms". That has changed my life, knowing I am never alone.
Jesus is very real and awesome.
