Greeting My Father

I have had several spiritual experiences. I will relate one of them: The first was when I was 23 years old and my father had just died. I was filled with grief. Two weeks after his death while sleeping, I traveled through a dark tunnel at a great speed. I traveled hands first toward a white light that was at the end of the tunnel. When I approached the end¸ as if on a television screen, I saw my father walking rapidly down a path bounded by a very tall green hedge. He walked without his usual limp. I thought that I had never seen a hedge like this. At the end of the tunnel, I stepped out and entered a garden area. I walked into a beautiful gazebo structure that had a marble floor and marble benches with tables. There were the most beautiful flowers around the inside of the gazebo, with brilliant vivid colors. On the right of the gazebo, there was a beautiful white light that appeared to be coming from a place far in the distance. There were several people sitting at the tables, talking, who looked entranced with each other. I sat down at one on the tables. On my left side was a large green area surrounded by trees, beautiful flowers and bushes. I saw my father rapidly walking, without a limp, through this area towards me. When he got to where I was, I could see that he looked to be about 30 years old (not his normal 67 years). He was smiling and his skin was not just glowing but illuminating. He was wearing the same type of clothes that he always wore (khaki shirt and pants). He sat down at the table with me and I asked him if he was alright. He said that he was happy. However, he did not say this in words, but because his mouth did not move, but I heard it (or felt it). The thought then occurred to me that he had a house that he loved that was just the way that he wanted. I felt a great relief, and suddenly I woke up. I have never forgotten anything about this experience, which was over 44 years ago because I also felt that I had actually been there in the place in this dream.
