I have been meditating for quite a while and have experienced various things. One of them is feeling pressure in the head and as if my jaw area is going to explode. The type of meditation I do is being aware or mindful of my breath. Also, I constantly feel my body shaking (like shivering- though I don't feel cold). I also often feel very warm inside my body. I would appreciate it very much if someone could advice me what to do about it as it is uncomfortable when some of these symptoms arise.
By the way, I am not aware of any spirit guide. So I would like to deal with this situation using any techniques which need to be practiced when this sort of thing comes up. It comes in the way of the practice and somewhat deters me from going any beyond.
Also, I know many people praise the practice of meditation. I personally like this practice very much and have appreciated doing it from quite a young age. However, when I go further in this path, I often feel, I lacks motivation to do things I normally do in day to day life. In fact what I feel is like I need to spend my whole life going on this spiritual path. (I am not Christian though - but respect every religion). This can get very depressing.
Would someone also be able to elaborate on what is means to "open" the third eye. Does everyone who has opened it see spirits? If someone has the ability to see the future, does it mean that person has always opened his third eye.
The type of meditation I do comes from a Buddhist practice known as Anapanasati.
Thanks all for reading
You could try to change focus, maybe on the belly area, which is quite away from the head.
And maybe just relax, take it easy, as the Buddha said, not too tense, not to relaxed like a guitar string!
If meditation makes you feel depressed, I advice you to learn from a meditation teacher
