WOW, I have a story about Michael the archangel as well! It did not happen to me but it stuck in my head after hearing it from a frightened confused friend.
He had said that he was laying in bed (this is as a grown man) and opened his eyes to see something very dark and cloaked at the end of his bead. He started to panic but as soon as he did a bright light came down on this dark figure KICKING it so hard that it totally disintegrated before his eyes. He couldn't see past the light but he saw that it was big... But here's the crazy part-he heard a booming voice shout "Come Michael we need you" and he was gone... Crazy thing is, my friend didn't even know who this Michael was! I knew right away. I just couldn't believe it. This story helps to ease my worries for my friend,

as lovely as it would be, and I'm not saying that what happened to you wasn't real.
But there is a condition, that is compleatly supported and explaind by science, its called 'Sleep Paralysis'.
Wikipedia it.
Ive had it, and it feels like an evil presence in your room, and you feel paralyzed in fear in your bed, whilst feeling awake.
Its common across ALL cultures, and somepeople are longtime sufferers although a 1/4 of the population experience it at some point in their life.
Maybe research it.

Great experience and it can lead you to put your faith in Jesus and His awesome Church the Roman Catholic Church. I often pray the St Michael Prayer. It goes like this... Saint Michael the Archangel defend me in this day of battle. Be my defence against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him I humbly pray and do thou o prince of the heavenly host cast in to hell all the evil spirits which prowl around the world seeking the ruin of souls.

In the years since this experience I've had real experiences, and I've had dreams about things. There's no mistaking the two.

I do not believe you were asleep.
Some would say,"trance" but you would of felt your beath become shallow.
It is true when we ask for help and are in danger angels manifest. My husband was writting a book and a spirit that had physically cut him as a youngman cut him this year. A wasp entered our flat that day. And it just seemed to me we needed help! So I asked and that night saw a lovely angelic being float into the room. I checked my breathing and made sure I was not dreaming which I was not.

My eyes were shut because I was terrifed. Therefore I was not asleep, and not dreaming.

You have opened your eyes? So it must have been a dream. Very interesting though.
